# Alipay+ (cross-border)

Alipay+ (cross-border) is a digital wallet that redirects from the checkout page to a localized and familiar Alipay+ (cross-border) hosted page, similar to the PayPal experience. Alipay+ (cross-border) supports recurring payments. It's suitable for merchants who don't have a local entity but wish to provide a localized experience. Customers pay in CNY from the redirect page without encountering any currency conversion.

Contact your Customer Success Manager and sign an Alipay+ (cross-border) addendum if you want to use Alipay+ (cross-border).

## How to configure

How you configure Alipay (domestic) depends on whether you're using [DigitalRiver.js with Elements](/commerce-api/payments/payments-solutions/digitalriver.js.md) or[ Drop-in payments](/commerce-api/payments/payments-solutions/drop-in.md).

## How it works

Alipay+ (cross-border) uses a [submit then redirect (STR) payment flow](/commerce-api/payments/building-your-workflows/flows-by-payment-type.md#submit-then-redirect-str-payment-flow).
