# Individual products

An individual product is a single sellable SKU. The following image shows an example of a SKU:

Individual products are common, but sometimes, a product with variants makes more sense for the store, product line, or business.

**Example**: If a product comes in different colors, sizes, or versions, it is easier and less time-consuming to maintain one product with variants than to maintain a handful of individual products that are nearly the same.

You can get individual products, products within a category, or all possible products with API calls.
