# Searching for a user by name or email

Learn how to search for a user by name or email.

To search for a user by name or email:

1. Click **Users and roles**. The Users and roles page appears.
2. [Filter your users](/digital-river-api/administration/dashboard/settings/users-and-roles/filtering-your-users-and-roles.md) if needed.
3. Enter the user's name or email address in the search field. The results of the search appear in the list.

4. To clear the search field, click **X**.
