Handling a rejected order

Learn how to use an updated Checkout to create a new Order after a previous Order was rejected

When a submitted Order is rejected, Digital River allows you to update the original Checkout and create a new Order with the same Checkout. In other words, the same checkoutId can be used multiple times when attempting to create an Order.

Once an Order is successfully submitted, the checkoutId used to create that Order can't be used to create additional Orders.

The most likely reason to use the same checkoutId to resubmit an Order is when a payment source is rejected due to insufficient funds or lack of credit. If this occurs, you can obtain a new payment method from the customer, update the Checkout, and create a new Order.
