The Prebuilt Checkout workflow in BigCommerce, powered by Digital River, streamlines your customers' purchasing process. This feature integrates seamlessly with your existing store setup to manage various aspects of checkout, from cart review to payment processing. After your customer adds products to their cart and clicks Checkout, the Digital River Global Checkout appears in the experience. You will see the following modal sequence if you have enabled Prebuilt Checkout.
At the Cart stage, customers can review the items they have selected before proceeding to checkout.
At the Checkout stage, customers provide their shipping and billing addresses.
At this stage, customers can choose their preferred shipping method based on options such as delivery speed, cost, and courier preferences.
Customers must enter their Value Added Tax (VAT) identification number at the VAT ID collection stage. This information is essential for tax calculation and regulatory compliance, especially for business transactions within the European Union. The VAT ID ensures that the correct amount of tax is applied based on the customer’s location and tax status.
At the Payment stage, the customer will be prompted to enter their payment information, select a payment method, and review their order summary. This step ensures that all necessary payment details are collected accurately and securely before order completion. The customer must ensure all details are correct before finalizing your purchase.
