# Generate cancellations

Learn how to work with cancellations using Digital River Prebuilt Checkout.

You can generate cancellations using the Digital River Dashboard or by sending [Fulfillment Requests](https://www.digitalriver.com/docs/digital-river-api-reference/#operation/createFulfillments) directly to the Digital River API.

When a refund is created and processed, the BigCommerce order status is updated automatically.

| **Digital River Order State**                | **BigCommerce Order State**                           |
| -------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| If the Digital River order is cancelled then | The BigCommerce order will be updated to "Cancelled." |

The order cancellation is reflected in the order details of the BigCommerce application.
