# Create custom variables

When working with nodes in a synchronous checkout flow, you need to create custom variables. Use the following steps to create these variables:

1. Click **Manager Tab** and and then click **New Resource**.\

2. Enter details for the Resource Types as shown in the table below. Start with API Name.
3. Click Done.
4. Repeat for all entries in the table.<br>
