Handling delayed orders

Learn how to handle back orders and delayed orders

Payment authorization may expire when the period between authorization and fulfillment exceeds seven days. If you cannot ship the customer's goods and create a Fulfillment before the authorization expires, we may not be able to capture the funds and you risk not getting paid for the order.

As a general rule, you are required to ship products before a charge is captured. However, in cases where there has been a delay, you can create a fulfillment when you're ready to ship the goods and wait for Digital River to notify you that the charge has been captured, so long as you immediately ship the product.
