Designating a locale

Learn how to set the locale to create invoices and credit memos in different languages

A locale is a designator that combines the two-letter ISO 639-1 language code with the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code.

If supported, Digital River uses the specified value to localize invoices and credit memos. The locale attribute is also contained in the Customer object. However, the value you provide in Checkout always overrides the Customer value. Additionally, if the locale is defined in Customer, but not specified in Checkout, then the invoice is still localized.

The default locale is en-US. This locale is used whenever you don't specify your own.
